“I am a freelance tourist guide and I have five family members. As I am a freelance tourist guide, I didn't have the regular income before COVID Pandemic. I teach school subjects the young students in my free time. However, COVID started to outbreak in Myanmar in 24th March of 2020. It was a great difficulty for me. I could not earn money from tourism industry well but I tried to earn money from teaching young students. Gradually, the spread of disease became fast and it stopped me to go and teach. My mother is sixty years old who suffers from heart disease and cervical disease. In addition, she is waiting for the operation of the glands on her throat. But, She cannot do it now because of the heart disease ,poison in her body and hypertension and the doctor from the government hospital gave the directions for dosage for everyday to control her heart disease and hypertension and to reduce her poison in her body. The doctor said that she may die during the operation because of her current disease. My younger sister is unemployed and is trying to apply for a job. She also suffers from heart disease. My father and I have to struggle with the medical expense in every month. I couldn't earn well as a tourist guide and as a freelance teacher because of the COVID. I extremely worry for my mom who cannot take the medicine everyday to control her disease during the COVID. It is really stressful and I wish I could overcome this nightmare.” [sic]

My wife as a teacher, but the salary is not enough for all of us. Usually, my wife's salary is used to pay debt/loan but now since Covid-19 in early March, tourism has been quiet and no guests have come to Bali so I lost my job. I Can't even cover daily expenses, let alone pay off my debts. So far, I have relied on my income to be a driver, now I can't even cover the daily expenses for my family. I hope I can get additional help for the daily expenses especially for school expenses to support my family.” [sic]
